Welcome to week 14 of #thriftscorethursday! We’re so glad you’re here 🙂
Thrift Score Thursday is a fun and fabulous hashtag party in celebration of treasure hunting! Each week, you guys share your new thrifty finds on Instagram & Twitter using #thriftscorethursday, and each week my lovely cohosts and I excitedly comb through them, experiencing extreme thrift-envy, and choose a few of our favorites to feature on our blogs!
This week, I’m especially excited to announce that we have a guest host, my friend Dena from Hearts & Sharts, joining us!
The Facts:
– You can share any thrifty finds with us – whether they hail from a thrift store, Craigslist, estate sale, garage sale, side of the road, or apartment dumpster! The fun, the funny, the awesome, the odd – this hashtag party is open to all!
– Feel free to use #thriftscorethursday any day of the week! We’ll be keeping up with the hashtag all week long to find our favorites for the following Thursday.
– Each week, my cohosts and I will pick a favorite thrift score or two to feature! So please note that by linking up with #thriftscorethursday, you are giving us permission to share your finds via social media or on our blogs.
The Features:
Squeeee! Don’t you just love this little brass mouse Elena from Acasarella (Instagram: a_casarella) scored on eBay? I’m going to start calling her the brass animal whisperer – remember her lovely brass deer she shared a few weeks ago?
Check out this awesome file cabinet Charlotte from Ciburbanity (Instagram: ciburbanity) found and treated to a gorgeous lavender ombré makeover! She’s promised details on her blog today – can’t wait!
My Finds:
I’m kind of cheating on #thriftscorethursday this week. My dining room makeover has been hogging all of my time lately, combined with various weekend commitments, and I haven’t been out thrifting (which does not bode well for sanity – I count on a few hours spent at the thrift store for therapy each week!). So I’m recycling an Instagram snapshot of my mega thrifting haul from a few weeks ago:
All of that for under $20! The ornate cream pitcher is the little sister of one I already own – it was super fun to find another for $5!
Those candlesticks are huge, heavy and solid pieces from Pottery Barn. I happily handed over $8 for the pair – I mean, they were probably something like $30 a piece originally!
Lastly, the midcentury globe light was a Habitat for Humanity Restore score – just $5 for the whole thing AND it works. I actually installed it myself. I tell you, I’m getting to be an old pro at this installing-light-fixtures thing! When I moved my midcentury chandelier from the old dining room to the new dining room, I put this light up in the old dining room/future lounge area. We’ll get to that at some point…
Well, now I want to hear from you! Did you thrift this week? What did you find?
Be sure to check out the fabulous finds & features from Megan, Dena & Trisha as well!

The mouse, OMG! And your mid century light is AMAZING! I seriously am in love with it!
My mom just informed that she and my dad had the same light in their first apartment – isn't that fun? 🙂
That mouse! That file cabinet! That mid century light! So jealous of all of these excellent finds! That light is just so amazing. $5?!?! Seriously, I think I would have been on a cloud all week!
Hey! We're playing a new video game called, "The Last Of Us." Have you guys played it?
Jenni
I was pretty pumped 🙂
No – I haven't heard of that game! What is it about? We'll have to check it out!
Got to say it too but I adore that mouse!
I totally have that mouse too! He's a cute one!
