Hello everyone! Thank you all so much for helping us celebrate our 100th week of Thrift Score Thursday last week!
We had a blast – each host tackled the milestone from a slightly different angle, so if you didn’t catch our posts commemorating 100 weeks of thrifting love, catch up here:
Mine // Cassie’s // Corinna’s // Trisha’s
And the winner of our 100 Weeks of Thrift Score Thursday $100 giveaway is being announced on Instagram this morning… Stay tuned!
My Find:
You actually got a glimpse of my find earlier this week in The ABC’s of Gathering: C is for Chinoiserie… Did you catch it?
I picked up this little orange lacquer and brass Chinese trinket box at Goodwill last week for $2. I walked around with it for a little while, trying to make up my mind… Where would I use it? I don’t really have a lot of orange in my home…
But with Chinoiserie week coming up, I decided it was meant to be! And it ended up working perfectly on my vanity with that peacock vase (which I previously shared for Thrift Score Thursday here.)
I kind of love that it’s a little beaten up… It gives it an authentic “artifact” feel, with all kinds of imagined history!
The Features:
Let’s start off with one of my favorite things ever… Miniatures! Alice @thoughtsfromalice (and several others, including our own Cassie!) is making over a secondhand dollhouse with all sorts of fabulous mini finds, like this incredibly teeny tiny plaster mantel she found for $4 at a charity shop!
You can keep up with all the squee-worthy dollhouse posts on Instagram at #dollhousetherapy!
@shop_agneswatt shared this huge wall hanging basket find and I’m digging it! You guys just might turn me into a wicker/basket lover yet!
What? More baskets? Ho adorable are this hanging basket set Mary (@athomeonthebay) scored for just 25 cents? (!!!) The bottom piece is actually the top of the basket, but she cleverly hung them both on the wall and filled them with plants!
Finally, @thriftedriches shared this SEVEN piece vintage bedroom set find… My jaw dropped at the incredible details! Some Kent Coffey Perspecta and Broyhill Brasilia with a bit of a Brutalist flair – I love it!

Yes that adorable mantel. I never knew how much I wanted a dollhouse 😉
I’m dying to get one and join in on the dollhouse fun! It could be very dangerous to my wallet, lol! 🙂
love those baskets- both of them are styled perfectly!
and love your orange box- it was meant to be!
and miniatures…. can’t even!
Thanks Cassie! I’ve always loved miniatures, but this dollhouse challenge has me OBSESSED right now! Oh the possibilities!
Oh, those hanging wall baskets! Perfection.
I so agree! I would never have come up with that idea myself – it’s totally brilliant!
Brutalist flare! I didn’t think brutalism could really have flare, but I see where you’re coming from 🙂
Haha. You’re right, that’s kind of an oxymoron! But still… Those angles! Love ’em.
