I’m so excited about today’s post! I’ve loved following along with the last two rounds of Swap It Like It’s Hot, so I was super psyched when Charlotte from Ciburbanity asked if I’d like to join in! Welcome to Day 2 of the 3rd Flea Market Swap!
If you love thrift store finds and creative makeovers, you are going to LOVE this series! 33 transformations from 33 bloggers who received surprised thrift store supplies in the mail spread out over five days of extreme awesomeness. You can find the full schedule at the bottom of the post!
I had the pleasure of thrift shopping for my blogging bestie and Thrift Score Thursday cohost, Trisha at Black and White Obsession and I can’t wait to see what she did with the finds I sent over! I received my surprise package from Sarah at While They Snooze and basically, she nailed it!
A little blue collapsible shelf/table, three balls of crochet thread, four little square yellow baskets (um, yes – I adore yellow, remember?), and the most perfect brushed brass and glass photo box frame, featuring this very stylishly-coiffed gentleman:
Ready to see what these supplies became? While I tried to come up with a way to use all the different pieces together, I settled on using the yellow baskets, the white crochet thread, and the photo box frame to make two separate crafts.
First up…
Thrifted Baskets to Craft Organization
I dug into my colorful yarn collection to stitch together the tops of the baskets into a square and I used the crochet thread to attach the bases of the baskets together.
Now it’s a perfect organizer for some of my sewing supplies!
Photo Box Frame to Marbled Storage Box
The glass and brass photo box frame couldn’t have been easier to transform! I mean, this hardly qualifies as a craft, but I’m just so in love with the finished product… Can you spy it?

I simply used the handsome black-and-white-stock-people as a template to cut some stunning marbled paper to size and slipped it in between the glass plates in the photo box. Seriously, did you ever think it could look this good?
Now, I’ve just got to send you over to the other awesome swap participants!

What fun transformations! … although, I kind of liked the cheesy photos of the hot guy in the photo box! (Kidding!). The marbled paper looks great.
Haha, I know… Maybe I should have kept him on one side of the box? 😉
The stylishly-coiffed gentleman is the reason I sent that to you! lol I actually bought the yellow baskets before I knew you loved yellow but when I found out I might have done a little happy dance. haha That looks so great! I love what you did! 🙂
