Welcome to the 29th installment of Thrift Score Thursday! A hashtag party dedicated to sharing and celebrating thrifty finds of all kinds and maybe inspiring you to hit the thrift shop just one more time in case there’s something awesome waiting for you!
This week’s amazing cohost is Gretchen from Boxy Colonial. Her blog is on my must-read list, both for her awesome projects and her hilarious and witty writing. Last week I featured the $15 Goodwill rug that pretty much sealed her #thriftscorethursday celebrity status.
Are you perhaps new to this Thrift Score Thursday madness? Check it out:
Simply share a picture of any recent thrifty find on Instagram or Twitter (or both!) using #thriftscorethursday!
The Facts:
– You can share any thrifty finds with us – whether they hail from a thrift store, Craigslist, estate sale, garage sale, side of the road, or apartment dumpster! The fun, the funny, the awesome, the odd – this hashtag party is open to all!
– Feel free to use #thriftscorethursday any day of the week! We’ll be keeping up with the hashtag all week long to find our favorites for the following Thursday.
– Each week, Trisha from Black and White Obsession and I will pick a favorite thrift score or two to feature! So please note that by linking up with #thriftscorethursday, you are giving us permission to share your finds via social media or on our blogs.
The Features:
Casey from Brass Jones (Instagram: caseymason_) has an obsession with pineapples and brass (hence her awesome blog name). I have an obsession with this brass and antiqued glass pineapple she shared last week. Could it cover any more of the moment’s hot décor trends? Fabulous.
Laurel from A Bubbly Life (Instagram: abubblylife) found the most adorable little vintage record player ever for her daughter’s room. I just love it!
I can hardly believe that Amber from Averie Lane (Instagram: averielaneblog) scored these little midcentury nightstands for just $10 for the pair at a yard sale! I am not much of a yard-saler, but perhaps I should start!
My Find
A few weeks ago I spotted this huge, rustic basket at Thrift Town. It was $7, which I consider high for a thrift store purchase, but its perfectly imperfect hand-crafted appeal and gargantuan size (over two feet long by at least a foot wide) won me over.
You might have noticed that I don’t typically tend toward “rustic” in my décor, but I’m a firm believer in buying what you love and incorporating it into your home. So for now it’s sitting on top of my 1970’s brass and glass coffee table providing some, shall we say, juxtaposition. (I’m pretty sure that’s a nice word for non-coordinating and potentially clashy décor, right?)
I’ve filled it with my ever-growing yarn collection (which the cats of course seem to think is their own personal treasure trove of amusement).
Well, now it’s your turn! We can’t wait to see your awesome thrifty finds – share on Instagram & Twitter using #thriftscorethursday!
Be sure to check out the finds and features from Trisha and Gretchen!

Woah, like woah!! We had not one but TWO of the same features. AND they were in the same order. Uhhh… #bffsforlife! When I come for a visit, I must find this "Thrift Town" store- because 1 what a perfect name and 2 look at that find!! It's absolutely PERFECT for all that yarn you're hoarding!!
Haha. We are slowly turning into the same person 😛
I almost picked those little tables, too, so I'm glad you did! And I think I'm going to have to take up knitting just so I can have a pretty yarn collection. Or, you know, at least PRETEND to take up knitting 😉
People collect bottle caps, shot glasses, salt and pepper shakers… Why not yarn? It's much prettier! 😛
I love the basket you got and the picks you chose! I LOVE those tables and can't believe they were $10! :O
Thanks Caitlin! I can't believe the price for those guys either!
oooh that basket is awesome! love it!
Thanks Stephanie!
Those nightstands are gorgeous!!
Right?!
Perfect yarn basket, Brynne! And I absolutely loved the rug that Gretchen scored last week. Could you let her know that I'm a "certified rug sitter", for those times when she's out of town? 🙂
Oooh, plotting the perfect crime Gina!
I love those night stands. What a steal.
I so agree!!
