You guys, I am so excited about this giveaway! I had so much fun picking the items I wanted to include, so without further ado, let me present to you The Gathered Home’s very first giveaway!
And here’s a little bit about each item included in the giveaway…
You know I’m crazy about brass. Come to think of it, I must crazy to give these brass and mother-of-pearl candlesticks away… They are awesome, and detailed, and just soooo flourishy. I love them. Will you promise to love them too?
Now that we have the brass covered, I just had to add these adorable vintage whiskey glasses with their Wedgewood-esque Greek design. Whether you’re going to sip a cocktail (like this Vieux Carre) or a lemonade, I can practically guarantee these glasses will make it taste better… Or at least make you feel more classy.
Brass, beverage… Books! I am always collecting vintage and antique books. This little volume is a Gregg Shorthand Dictionary from 1958 – in case you desperately need to create a gorgeous squiggly doodle that means “evanescence”.
Don’t you feel like you just got transported into Mad Men? As you sip your whiskey cocktail, you can practice your shorthand for your exciting new secretarial position! Or use the pages in a craft project. Or find a word that’s meaningful to you and design a crazy huge piece of artwork around it. So many possibilities!
And since the inspiration for this giveaway came about from my recent china cabinet post, I thought it was only absolutely essential that I include the two remaining Anthropologie glass drawer knobs that I’ve been hoarding saving for such a time as this.
Do you want to win this fabulous vintage treasures prize package?
Am I asking rhetorical questions now?
This giveaway is now over. Thanks to all who entered!
Best of luck!

How about you just bring these items to my house for dinner?
It would take at least dinner and a movie. These ain't no couch floozies we're talking about!
What a cute giveaway! My mom is a really good short hand writer. Makes me think of her 😉
I think that is such a neat skill!
Love this! Especially in love with the candle sticks! Have the perfect place for them! 🙂
Good luck! 😉
Makes me feel so old! Took 3 years of Shorthand in HG (81 grad). Love these items – I promise to take care of them – I've already liked you on facebook! And, I'm not too far from you on Lake Ray Hubbard.
Now I've decided that I need to learn shorthand 🙂 It looks so elegant!
What a great assortment. I could never have mastered shorthand. Have tall glasses in this same pattern and never quit liking brass. Thank you for this fun giveaway chance.
I LOVE the Greek pattern of the glasses – obviously, you need to win the matching short glasses 😉
Such fun stuff! 🙂 I am especially loving the dictionary and the anthro knobs of course!
Those Anthropologie knobs are quite possibly my favorite knick-knacks in the entire universe. Just possibly…
@molly – sweet you have glasses in that pattern! I did a double-take when I saw them, because last fall I found a bowl (short vase? candy dish? flowerpot??) from that set and got it for my Greek-learning buddy. If we had the matching glasses we could drink tea out of them every week. I'm sure we would learn Greek vocabulary much better. 😉
Also, the candlesticks are gorgeous, and it had never occurred to me a shorthand dictionary existed. So interesting.
Another Greek learner! I took two semesters of Greek, and it was interesting to say the least… You need a good cocktail or two to get you through! 🙂
This look like an absolutely fabulous giveaway. I love the pictures!
Thanks Ann! Good luck!
Yay, yay, yay! Your first giveaway!! I'm both excited for the giveaway and for you!! Also, I love the gorgeous couch and two chairs you posted today…if we lived in Dallas still it would have been my goal to talk Patrick into them. 😉
Thanks Jessica! I'm ridiculously excited as well 🙂
