A ways back, I picked up these wooden antlers at Goodwill (never fear – no actual deer were harmed in this venture!) for around a dollar, knowing that one day I’d find the perfect purpose for them!
(This is my general policy while out thrifting. I’m ensuring myself a starring role in a hoarding intervention later in life.)
As you can see, one side is missing a little piece of antler, but I tell myself they end up looking more realistic that way.
I brushed on some primer and semi-gloss trim paint that I had on hand, because everything’s better with a coat of white paint!
Want to see how my new jewelry holder turned out?
I’ll also let you have a look at my new vanity area – this little desk was sitting in my parent’s garage, so I asked if they would let me “borrow” it…
It’s not vintage or anything, but I think the black is perfect for that corner, and I really do like the turned legs!
I replaced its original wooden knob with a little glass one for more bling:
Obviously, I’m a girl who loves her bling:
I’ve always loved having my necklaces hung up where I can see them! (Confession: I own many more, but chose to exercise restraint…Curate, is the word.)
In our last apartment, I had a row of clear push-pins lining our bathroom wall, which made for a lovely sparkly ever-changing art display!
So let’s chat – how do you store your jewelry? Do you like my little vanity area?

Hmm, your blog link did something strange today: told me that you moved when I followed link from bloglovin. Anyways I adore that they are wood and can't believe you found them at Goodwill. Perfect addition to your bedroom.
I switched from using Feedburner to Feedblitz, so I'm guessing Bloglovin' is pulling from the wrong feed right now. I'll see if they can sort it out!
Thank you 🙂
This looks great!! I hook my necklaces and earrings on the metal shelving rack in our closet- not quite as glamorous, but it keeps them from ending up in a tangled pile! Although lately I've started storing them in my car so I can put one on before I get to work, since my little guy likes to try to yank them off my neck (I wait till I drop him at school and then I put one on)

I like it! You have to have a method that works for you 🙂
i got the same message that julia got! this looks amazing!!! so stylish!
Thanks for making the extra effort to click through Cassie! I've sent an email to Bloglovin' support to hopefully fix the issue. I'm so glad you like my vanity area 🙂
I love the antlers! I have two hooks on either side of my dresser mirror for various necklaces–one's a mermaid, one is a moose. (Forgive the crappy photos in my mermaid post… that was one of my first blog entries!)
Ah – that's adorable! I love mooses/meese/moosen (Bryan Reagan, anyone?) 🙂
I love displayed jewelry! I recently got some lucite display pieces from Container Store for mine as well as this cheeky tray for earrings http://www.fishseddy.com/browse.cfm/4,4263.html. It's a cute nod to my ridiculous schedule. I made an earring frame out of window screen a few years ago too, so my display takes up an entire corner of our dresser. LOVE your antler idea. Very cute.

Ahhh – I have such a weakness for lucite! And I realized I didn't address earring storage… Love the idea of using window screen for that!
Thanks Katy 🙂
