This piece is perplexing because a) I’m back at the old conundrum of whether to call it a sideboard, credenza, buffet, dresser or credenzboard, b) I have no idea what to call those crazy cool cutouts, hence I’m stymied in my research for any further information on this piece, and c) last evening after I posted it on Craigslist, I received an email from a well-known furniture store owner here in Dallas offering me $200 more than my asking price and promising to come get it today… I definitely didn’t say no, but now I’m even more curious about what she knows that I don’t!
I’m waiting to hear back from her for certain, but I also have another buyer waiting to buy it if she doesn’t. In the meantime, I will sit here and wrack my brain trying to think of what to call those shapes – hershey kisses towers… minarets… spades… Taj Mahal shapes… Leave a comment if you have a guess!

Sounds to me like an opportunity to make a friend in the business. I'd sell it to the furniture dealer on the condition that she gives you full disclosure about the piece.
That's pretty much what I intend to do! I have no problem if she turns around and sells it for 10x as much – but the suspense is killing me 🙂
Did you ever find out what this piece was??!!
Hi Caroline! I never did find out an official designer/maker name of this piece, but I've seen other pieces from the same set floating around online like the matching china cabinet I blogged about here. So the mystery remains 🙂
