This is my 100th blog post! Drinks all around!
This drink, while featuring some decidedly fall flavors, is very refreshing and thus perfectly acceptable for summer imbibing. It tastes like apple pie, so we called it… wait for it… “Apple Rye.”
We are geniuses.
Watch out, because this is so scrumptious you may find yourself reaching for a second slice, er… drink.
For each serving, you will need:
3 oz. rye whiskey – we like either Rittenhouse or Bulleit
2 oz. apple juice – you can’t go wrong with Simply Apple!
2 dashes angostura bitters
1/2 tsp. honey
Dash ground cloves
Shake the whiskey, apple juice, bitters and honey together. Pour over ice. Dash the ground cloves over the top.
Let me know if you try this and what you think!
