Hello friends! This artist spotlight is long overdue – today I am so pleased to feature the lovely work of Zakkiya Hamza of Inkstruck Studio!
I ran across Zakkiya’s blog a few months ago and instantly connected with her sweet and whimsical illustration style!
I asked Zakkiya to tell us a little about herself…
Hey everyone. My name is Zakkiya Hamza and I run an art & illustration blog over at Inkstruck Studio. I’m Indian by nationality but currently live in Qatar which is in the middle east. (I know you probably have your Google maps open right now). Although I’m an architect by profession, art has always been my first love. I’m primarily a graphite artist and realism is my forte but I love trying out different mediums, techniques and styles. I’m self-taught and all that I’ve learnt about art is through lots and lots of practice. Apart from blogging, I run an online store, which sells paper goods, original illustrations and prints which also goes by the same name as my blog at Inkstruck.com. One of my biggest aspirations in life is to travel the world. My current obsession is learning how to glam up my blog and I hope to venture into design in the near future as well.
She is one creative and diversely talented girl! I especially love how she shares so much of her creative process on her blog – you’ll find progress shots and tips for most pieces as well as a list of materials used.
I wanted to share a few of my favorites with you today – these Easter bunny illustrations first got me hooked!
And quite possibly my most favorite of all and one I’d dearly love to add to a gallery wall:
Don’t you just love it all? Anyone else inspired to try their hand at a little watercolor? I hope you’ll stop by Zakkiya’s blog and shop to explore further!

Absolutely adorable. I love doing watercolor with salt. It's such a fun technique. B and I did it for an art project together once.
I'll have to try the salt technique myself soon! I love the resuls!
